Meet Dr. Banister

Dr. William Banister is a board-certified neurosurgeon who has over 15 years of neurosurgical experience. Dr. Banister has successfully performed over 5,000 surgical procedures and is excited to be back practicing neurological surgery in his native state of Texas. Dr. Banister is trained to focus specifically on the disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.

He focuses on disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves, and approaches patients with sincerity and warmth. Dr. Banister’s colleagues describe him as being a thoughtful surgeon who considers all angles before developing a plan of action—and this diligence has helped him earn the trust and satisfaction of the thousands of patients he has treated.

Dr. Banister specializes in minimally invasive surgery to decrease postoperative pain and scarring, shorten patients’ length of hospitalization, and cut down recovery times. Believing there is no one-size-fits-all surgery for a given ailment, he tailors the treatment to fit the individual needs of every patient. A Texas native, Dr. Banister kept his education local. After completing his formal education with honors at well-respected academic institutions, Dr. Banister has not stopped striving for continued growth and development. His research has been accepted for presentation at several conferences, and he is a member of many professional associations and regularly attends professional meetings and seminars to ensure that he remains at the forefront of new surgical techniques and research findings.

Dr. Banister is a devoted father to his three children, and he cites fatherhood as the accomplishment in his life of which he is most proud. What’s left of his free time is usually filled with working out, most often to the tunes of his favorite country music.
